Radisson Suites: Buena Park

During our coverage we got a chance to stay at the Radisson Suites in beautiful Buena Park California.

It is hard to believe it has been four years since we last stayed at the hotel and we were pleased to see that the rooms and locale were as enjoyable as we remember them.

Located near the highways and within easy walking distance of Knott’s Berry Farm, Medieval Times, and The Pirate Dinner Theater, the hotel also has numerous dining options around it as well as a shuttle for those not wanting to walk after a long day at the parks.

Check in was smooth and pleasant and we were informed that breakfast would be included and we were given the times that it was served in the restaurant.

The hotel is comprised of three levels of suites around a central courtyard which houses the pool, restaurant and conference areas and makes me think at some time in the past the locale was likely apartments.

After several hours driving over, it was a huge relief to be welcomed by our clean and spacious room. The front room had the couch, television, table and chairs, and sink, fridge, and coffee maker we remembered, and the bathroom was spacious and stocked with brand name spa products.

Our room was spacious with plenty of closet and drawer space as well as a safe, another television and a comfy king sized bed. The room also had free HBO and plenty of television options which was a perfect way to unwind after the drive over and the early morning we had covering E3.

We had to leave before breakfast on our first day, but we were able to enjoy the in room coffee before we left, and the proximity to the freeway allowed us to get a jump on traffic and allowed us to arrive at our destination earlier than expected.

Following a very busy day of meetings and coverage we were able to relax in our room and get ready for an evening out at Disney’s Steakhouse 55. The hair dryer and ironing board in the room were very handy as we prepared, and the fact that Disneyland is only a 15-20 minute drive away with traffic was a very nice bonus as well.

Following a wonderful dinner and evening, our hotel room was also a great office as with the free WiFi, we were able to get some pictures and articles from the day completed and uploaded and still have plenty of time to relax.

The following morning we were able to enjoy the breakfast which was as good as we remembered. Scrambled eggs, fresh potatoes, rice, meats, fruit, and an array of juices, cereals, breads, oatmeal, and more were on hand and were the perfect start to the day.

We were not able to see if the hotel still had the afternoon reception that we had enjoyed earlier but it should be noted that the locale does offer a gift shop and restaurant for those needing items outside of the breakfast hours. The shuttle service is free to and from Disneyland and Knott’s which is a great value and benefits for guests.

The rates are reasonable for the hotel as we have often seen locales charge more and offer far less such as charging for breakfast, shuttles, parking, WiFi, and so on.

Our stay was too short for our liking as unlike our previous visit, we did not have the chance to have down days at Knotts and in the area following our convention but the hotel once again impressed as they do all the little things right. The exterior may be showing some age, but it is clean and well-maintained, but the rooms are as clean, comfortable, and modern as anything you would expect to find in any hotel, and the friendly staff and easy proximity to restaurants, freeways, theme parks, and entertainment already has us planning for a future visit.
