Kingston HyperX Cloud Revolver

When we first started covering Kingston products years ago, it was for

their great line of memory and USB drives. As time has gone on the company

has expanded their lines to include SSD drives, mousepads, and their Cloud

line of gaming headsets.

Their last offering was a fantastic mix of sound, comfort, durability, and

performance, so I was very eager to see what they had in store with their

new Cloud Revolver headset.

The HyperX Cloud Revolver is a very sleek and stylish unit that is as

durable as it is comfortable. The attractive black and red coloring work

well and the amazingly comfortable memory foam and leatherette earcups fid

comfortably over the ear.

The company describes the audio as “studio grade sound stage” and what

this means for gamers, especially those who like FPS and Open World games

is a greater degree of sound quality and percision. Let me explain it like

this. If you are playing a game like DOOM or Call of Duty: Black Ops 3,

the sound is all encompasing. You can better judge the distance of

gunfire, footsteps, and other sounds related to your position. This allows

you to better judge of the action is happening further away from you or

much closer and allows players to have a better reaction time.

In a game like Tom Clancy’s The Division, players get a much more

immersive experience of the city as you hear the noises of the city in a

way closer to how you would in life. Gunfire is distant, but increases the

closer you get to it as an example.

For those looking to listen to music or watch a movie with the Cloud

Revolver, the 50mm drivers of the headset give users a more concert hall

enviornment which again makes you a part of the audio experience rather

than being fed the audio.

The microphone is a certified Teamspeak quality which makes it ideal for

clearly capturing all your gaming and other audio needs though some may

find the microhone audio pales when compared to the audio quality of the

unit. The other great feature of the Cloud Revolver is that it works with

consoles and mobile devices and truly is a one stop solution for all of

your gaming and audio needs.

The metal headband is adjustable although some may find some vibrations

when in contact with the metal but the comfort and durability are

incredible.

With an attractive price point, comfort, versatility, and audio quality

usually found only in higher priced units, the Kingston Hyper X Cloud

Revolver is another winning entry into the series and a very solid

investment for gamers looking for high quality and comfort at an

affordable price.
