Velocibox

Velocibox is a fun never-ending pattern game by Shawn Beck games. There’s not really a lot you can say to this indie title except how challenging it is, you flip the screen and slide to other sides avoiding obstacles collecting cubes at a very alarming rate. It’s really addicting at times, you really get caught up in the difficulty. Even after hours and hours of losing I still didn’t wanna give up, there’s enjoyment to be found in the difficulty. There’s 8 or spoiler alert 9 if you beat it each stage more harder than the last or vice versa. It’s crazy fast so you really have to be witty at what direction you go and how you time jumps.

I was surprised by how long I wanted to play it usually I’m abit turned off by never-ending pattern games but this one is different is really impressive especially visual wise. I instantly fell in love with that backdrops and colors each time you get through a level they’re simply eye candy.

However the game’s speed can be a bit of a problem, you go way too fast to even comprehend what’s in front of you. Example you’ll slide to another side because you see a huge vertical column coming towards you and you still hit it and die either because you didn’t slide in time or you slid but the column keeps going but horizontal. Especially when you’re trying to grab a cube but the column is in the way, obviously the point is to move out the way or just wait for the next cube and not be greedy but to finish the stage you need the cubes so of course you’ll be a bit greedy and go for those unbelievable places to get cubes.

But I digress, I really do love the game it’s a good time waster till a game or app finishes downloading. I’ve never played it with friends but I must imagine there’s a lot of passing the controller around and yelling “Hold on one more try” definitely go check this title out.
