How Will Sony Respond To DirectX 12 And Windows 10?

Recently there has been much talk and some debate about the pending addition of DirectX 12 and Windows 10 to the Xbox One system and what positive features it will bring to the system. Some see a better graphical performance as well as cross-platform play and some new streaming options and see it as Microsoft’s biggest move yet in their ongoing battle with Sony.

Sony currently enjoys a roughly 2-1 sales advantage over the Xbox One and many are looking towards E3 this June when the two titans of gaming will face off yet again in their now infamous pre-show showcases.

Sony did very well at the last two shows and much of this was due to an impressive stage show that touted the gaming basis of the PS4 as well as a host of several upcoming titles and exclusives.
With Microsoft aggressively touting their upcoming new software and features, the question emerges about what Sony will do for a response and if they will wait to E3 to announce it.
Sony has added many features such as 3D Blu-ray and Shareplay to their system since launch as well as options making it easier to add a new HD to the system, certainly showing they are aware of the need to keep improving the system and offering new features beyond the gaming scope of things.

Sony will likely hammer home their already announced and pending exclusive titles and you can bet they will also have a slew of as yet unannounced titles to whip their fans into a frenzy with but the big question is what else is coming?

Some have wondered if a PS4 Slim would be announced or perhaps a new bundle with more HD space that is associated with a pending release. There will also likely be a huge push with their partnerships for Street Fighter V and Star Wars Battlefront .

While Sony is confident in their system and the support it has received, they know that it is important to not overreact to the competition but at the same time, knows they need to win the battle of public opinion and as such will focus on the great games and new features to come. As to what Sony has in store is anyone’s guess, but we will all be watching for their latest moves come June.

Sony don’t need to respond to anything. They’ve already responded by having far better games, far batter resolutions, far better graphics, far better features and a far better online service than the Xbone and they’re been rewarded by being at the top of the sales charts every single week.

DX12 is not going to save the struggling Xbox from being outperformed at retail and it’s not going to magically make it have better games either. Sony have outperformed Microsoft at every turn this generation by offering FAR higher quality games and they’re going to continue to do that with titles like Uncharted 4, Until Dawn and God Of War.

The only thing this guy said that was correct is the PS4 having better graphic capability (which is barely noticeable). Xbox one is better in every other category. Especially online as they have been the king and will remain the king as long as they stay in the game. MS invested 1 billion dollars in new xbox live servers just before Xbox one launched, just to make sure. BTW how many times has Sony been hacked? MS exclusives also look just as good if not better than PS4. Xbox one is loaded with features. My personal favorite is being able to Skype my friend and snap it to the right side of the screen as I search for a multiplier match while watching ESPN and then getting an alert to switch back when the match is found. I’m going to list all the features, that’s what google is for.

Now on to DX12! DX12 is an absolute game changer not because it will greatly improve the graphics of the Xbox one (it is going to improve a lot of things for Xbox one) but it is essentially is going to allow a game to be created for both the Xbox one and the PC at the same time. DX12 will become the standard across the board and since it is exclusive to Windows 10 and Xbox one upcoming games released on both systems will be originally created on DX12 and then ported to PS4. You’re an idiot if you think PS4 has better games than Xbox one, BOTH SYSTEMS MAKE AMAZING GAMES!

My response would be to ask why the Xbox One struggles to do 1080 graphics on most games? The PS4 has better graphics on COD and every third party game on the market. Developers will tell you the PS4 is faster and more powerful as they use DDR5 memory instead of DDR 3. Also, Sony has had more success with their exclusives to date.
