Guessing The Legacy The Order: 1886 Prior To Release

With only a few days before The Order:1886 finally arrives, I like many have seen the plethora of articles both praising and criticizing the game prior to release. The early reviews are showing that the game does have some very solid graphics as well as a surprising amount of gore and a gameplay time of roughly twelve hours.

With the politics of pre-launch reviews set aside one has to wonder what the final verdict will be once the game is in the hands of the gaming public, a group that can be far less critical but also far more demanding and outspoken than many in the media with their like/dislike of a title.

Will the concerns about the gameplay, cinematics, lack of multiplayer and such turn out to be little more than PS4 bashing and people looking to troll, or will they prove to have been legitimate concerns that the final product failed to address?

So what I am asking you good readers to do is to take a glimpse into the near future and tell me what you think the final verdict on the game will be and where you think the franchise will be in three years.

Will we be awaiting the next game in the series or will the game be a good idea that failed to achieve the potential that it had? Will it be an exclusive that powers a new round of sales for the PS4 system, will it be justification for those who purchased the PS4 of many great exclusives to come?

The floor is yours and the comment box is open. Here is looking forward to what you have to say.

It depends on gamers perception towards game trailers vs final gameplays. Todays gamers are visually smarter, thanks to HDTVs. They’ve been trained to see differences between game trailers and actual gameplays. Devs/pubs tend to show off sexy teasers ahead of time to create hype, business 101. Gameplay footage may not be of high priority as the game may still in development. Sooner or later it could cause ‘downgrade’ effects in gamers eye because they’ve been spoiled by the sexy teasers. Core gamers tend to compare stuff, they just hate to be deceived even on small details. Media hyping could become a boomerang for devs/pubs.

Thank you. Aside from the curt it sucks, its a POS, etc comments I have been very happy with the majority of the comments on here and in our syndication about the game. While there have been questions and concerns they have been well articulated and thought out. You may many valid points here. What I always find funny is when we are at a game show and we are allowed to film gameplay. The standard is always over the shoulder with a players head in the shot and no close shots of the screens. The same also applies often to still photos. You would think they would want us to take the best possible images but oh well, they have their reasons.
