We Talk The Return of The Postal Dude in Postal 2: Paradise Lost With Running With Scissors

With the news that The Postal Dude is coming back 12 years after the release of Postal 2 and too remove the memory of Postal 3, we sat down with Mike Jaret at Running With Scissors to get the latest on the coming expansion.

What has the Postal Dude been up to since we last saw him?

Well everyone (barely any) saw his crappy appearance in a town called Catharsis….but we don’t talk about that. He’s back in Paradise and it’s even crazier than it was before!

What are the reasons behind an expansion now over a sequel?

Well when hundreds of thousands of new POSTAL fans are popping up out of nowhere why not give them something new, we always wanted to add on to P2 but it wasn’t really a good option. Thanks to Steam it’s a great option and people are reacting to the news very positively!

What are some of the locales we will see this time out?

The game will take place in the same town as POSTAL 2, same levels, but they will all be affected by the nuclear explosion and every area will look and play vastly different!

Do you think the controversy around the series has lessened since the early days of the game? If so, why?

Just like young people today don’t remember OJ loving Nicole to death, I think there is a whole new audience for POSTAL. Today, after so much real violence and much more violence in video games being presented in dramatic fashion by GTA5, COD, and others, I think the RWS sense of humor and absurd violence in POSTAL is much more palatable. I never really bought into the whole controversy thing in the first place. Fact was and is there were and are and will be more violent games than POSTAL. There are two main reasons we stood out, first we did not have the support of a major publisher and second we stood our ground and maintained our principles. More important, it’s for those exact reasons that we are here enjoying a new acceptance worldwide. Gamers are not stupid, they appreciate honesty and integrity.

Any new celebs we can look forward to?

Well we will be honoring Gary (Coleman) by having him return in a powerful position in Paradise Lost.

What do you think the future holds for the series?

My crystal ball is black so I will tell you how we feel, more than what we think may happen. RWS has and always will be for the fans. We’ve rode out the shit highway and today we are enjoying a new recognition and appreciation. As long as we hold to our principles the POSTAL brand will continue to evolve and flourish. For those who believe there are no limitations RWS is made up of believers, people with passion, this is truly priceless. Long live the Postal Dude!
