PHOENIX FILM FESTIVAL PREPS FOR 14TH YEAR!
PHOENIX (January 17, 2014) – It’s that time of year again! The 14th Annual Phoenix Film Festival, occurring this year from its opening night on April 3rd to its conclusion on April 10th, is rapidly approaching. Continually breaking attendance records since its inception, last years’ festival saw over 23,000 attendees and there are hopes to pull in even more film enthusiasts this year. The week long Festival will be held once again at Harkins Scottsdale 101 Theaters located at 7000 E. Mayo Blvd. Phoenix, AZ 85054.
If you are a movie lover, this is an event that is not to be missed. Tickets and passes are on sale now and available through the Phoenix Film Festival website www.phoenixfilmfestival.com. PHOENIX FILM FESTIVAL TO HOST TEEN NIGHT ON SATURDAY, APRIL 5th!

PHOENIX (March 17, 2014) – The Phoenix Film Festival has announced Teen Night for the festival, to take place on Saturday, April 5th. Teen Night will show two classic films for the evening including 1995’s CLUELESS and 2012’s THE PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER; both films having the central characters/themes involve teenage life. Tickets are $20 and include both screenings and chances to win great prizes. CLUELESS will begin at 5:10 pm; while THE PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER begins at 7:20 pm.

CLUELESS
A parody of Jane Austen’s novel Emma, about Cher, a popular girl who spends her days playing matchmaker, helping friends with fashion choices, advising the new girl at school on a makeover, and looking for a boyfriend.

THE PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER
Based on the novel written by Stephen Chbosky, this is about 15-year-old Charlie (Logan Lerman), an endearing and naive outsider, coping with first love (Emma Watson), the suicide of his best friend, and his own mental illness while struggling to find a group of people with whom he belongs. The introvert freshman is taken under the wings of two seniors, Sam and Patrick, who welcome him to the real world

PHOENIX FILM FESTIVAL TO HOST AMICA INSURANCE KIDS’ DAY SATURDAY, APRIL 5TH!

PHOENIX (March 17, 2014) – The Phoenix Film Festival has announced the family friendly, Amica Insurance Kids’ Day to take place on Saturday, April 5th. Kids’ Day is a great way for kids of all ages to come out and experience the festival. Guests can select from a series of hands-on activity stations focusing on different aspects of film production and geared to various age and ability levels. Stations are age-appropriate and run the full gamut of the filmmaking process. And best yet, it’s FREE! Some of the fun activities include:

• Walk the red carpet and get a paparazzi photo taken courtesy of Bookman’s.
• Miss Katie from the Musical Instrument Museum will help kids explore different sounds as they create a musical soundtrack to a fun film.
• Mr. Jesse from the Phoenix Public Library is back to read stories, talk about books that have been made into movies and have fun with the younger festival fans.
• Write the next best-selling screenplay “Mad Lib” style.
• Test out your acting chops against a green screen.
• Older kids will create their own short film!

Disney’s THE PIRATE FAIRY (Showing at 9:20am)
When a misunderstood dust-keeper fairy named Zarina steals Pixie Hollow’s all-important Blue Pixie Dust, and flies away to join forces with the pirates of Skull Rock, Tinker Bell and her fairy friends must embark on the adventure of a lifetime to return it to its rightful place. 45RPM- directed by Juli Jackson, an artist struggling with the source of her inspiration finds help from an obsessive record collector in the search for her deceased father’s lost music.

JAKE SQUARED- starring Elias Koteas, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Virginia Madsen, Jane Seymour, and Mike Vogel, a mind-bending comedy about a guy whose problems compound exponentially when younger versions of himself invade his life and try to solve his romantic problems.
