Cinemacon: Day 1Looks at New Offerings from Tom Cruise, The Expendables 2, The Dictator, and More.

Mark and Laura are on hand at Cinecon in Las Vegas getting us all the latest on what Hollywood has is store.

Dwayne Johnson was there to accept an award (I will get into details later). But also a few of his GI Joe co-stars were there. Adrianne Palicki and DJ Catrona was on stage with Dwayne and I Got a chance to see a few clips of GI Joe, about a good 15 minutes and it looked solid.

Two animated movies that they expect to be a hit this summer is Madagascar 3 and Rise of the Gaurdian. Chris Rock was on hand to introduce Madagascar and how the 3rd one is way better that 1 and 2. He compared it to be the Toy Story 3 of Madagascar. In the 25 minute clip, it was pretty hilarious. Rise of the Gaurdian was presented by Chris Pines. I’m not feeling it, this seems to be more of a young movie for me. But then again, its probably those who probably read the book. Chris Pine’s, is the voice of Jack Frost who’s a 300 year old boy. I guess my imagination kind of got lost in this one. Since some of the film wasn’t finished, it kind of threw me in a loop on how I feel about it.

Next up was a 15 minute clip of the Dictator and that got me peeing in my pants (not literally). But it got me on the edge my seat holding my gut, because it made me laugh so hard my stomach hurt. By the end of the clip, the lights went up and the dictator himself walks thru the crowd. Sasha Cohen Baron in Dictator Character makes his way thru the crowd and continues making the crowd laugh.

Another movie that might be interesting is the new Tom Cruise movie, which I think is called Oblivion. It turned out to be interesting. Funny and action packed. It was still in production but they had Tom Cruise on video to introduce 3 different clips.

Expendables 2. So this is what I got for now. Bruce Willis Character has another job for Stallone and his team. Bad things happen and revenge becomes the answer. Then stallone adds backup in the form of Arnold. The film is pretty much the same as the first, but more intense and has far more characters. I would go into more detail, but don’t want to spoil it.
