Wasikowska, Fassbender Join “Jane Eyre”

Mia Wasikowska (“Alice in Wonderland”) and Michael Fassbender (“Inglourious Basterds”) are in talks to join the new film adaptation of “Jane Eyre” for Ruby Films, BBC Films and Focus Features says Variety.

Based on Charlotte Bronte’s classic novel, the new adaptation emphasies the gothic elements of the story about Jane (Wasikowska), a demure governess who discovers her surly employer Rochester (Fassbender) is harboring a dark secret.

“Sin Nombre” director Cary Fukunaga is directing from a script by Moira Buffini. Alison Owen and Paul Trijbits are producing.
