Universal Releases “Kick-Ass” Globally

Universal Pictures International will release Matthew Vaughn’s action comedy “Kick-Ass” in the U.K., Germany, Australia, Latin America, Austria, Switzerland and New Zealand says The Hollywood Reporter.

The plan comes from a multi-territory pact struck between Focus Features International and Mandate International. Lionsgate has the scheduled the film for release in April next year, UPI will release the film in all those international territories on the same month.

Vaughn and Jane Goldman co-wrote the story of average teenager who decides to take his obsession with comic books as inspiration to become a real-life superhero. The only problem is he has no superpowers.
