“Harry Brown” and “Cracks” Acquired
Samuel Goldwyn Films has scored U.S. rights to the Michael Caine revenge thriller “Harry Brown” which opens this week in the UK says The Hollywood Reporter.
The Daniel Barber-directed film has Caine playing an elderly ex-serviceman and widower look to avenge his best friend’s murder by doling out his own form of justice.
Meanwhile, IFC Releasing has picked up US rights to “Cracks”, the feature film debut of Ridley Scott’s daughter Jordan Scott reports Variety.
Based on Sheila Kohler’s novel, Eva Green plays a teacher in an all-girls school in the 1930’s where her glamorous power over her students leads to an inappropriate relationship.
