Sony Remakes Canadian “Fathers and Guns”

Sony Pictures has scored the remake rights to French-Canadian box office hit “Fathers and Guns” reports the trades.

The action-comedy revolves around a father-and-son cop team who can’t stand each other and are assigned to an investigation to infiltrate an outdoor adventure group/therapy camp for fathers and sons.

The film opened this past Summer and outgrossed several major Hollywood productions by a large margin. In fact the film has become the highest-grossing French-language film ever released in Quebec and Canada.

Producer Denise Robert and writer/director Emile Gaudreault will return as producers. The pair will be joined by Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall who will also produce.
